Arlene "Nana" B. Jerow, 96, Escanaba, passed away on Tuesday October 30, 2012 at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba. She was born on December 15, 1915 in Escanaba, the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Eckes) Shanahan. On October 29, 1937 she married the late George F. Jerow who passed away in 1975.
Arlene enjoyed bowling, shopping, playing cards and going to bingo. She also volunteered at many different community organizations throughout the years.
She is survived by three daughters: Kathryn (James) Sundalius, Mary (Ralph) Dusenbery and Lois Brazeau, one sister: Frances "Babe" Buchholtz, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law: Mildred Jerow and Helen St.Vincent, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Roger and Lawrence Shanahan, one sister: Geraldine Wilcox and a son-in-law: Richard Brazeau.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (EST) on Friday November 2, 2012 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home, (400 S. 10th St., Escanaba, MI 49829). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. (EST) on Friday at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Parish with Fr. Eric Olson officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
