Fern C. Schram

Fern C. Schram, 98, Ann Arbor, formerly of Escanaba, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2011 at Glacier Hills Retirement Community in Ann Arbor, MI. She was born on March 13, 1913 in Escanaba, the daughter of the late Elmer and Rose (Vachon) Stacey. On April 17, 1951 she married the late Chester Schram.
Fern spent her working career as a nurse, retiring at the age of 72 while working for Dr. Bill Lemire. She greatly enjoyed being a volunteer at the V.A. Hospital in Ann Arbor and also loved playing Bridge, which she did until the age of 95.
Fern is survived by her daughter: Mary Gail (Ralph) Blasier, two brothers: Dan (Marilyn) Stacey and Elmer (Linnea) Stacey, two grandsons: Kevin and Nathan Gauss as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters: Mae Brazeau and Mildred Treanor and one brother: Bob Stacey.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday July 2, 2011 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Fern Schram will follow visitation at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Fr. Emmett Norden officiating.
