Harriet Rita (Demsky) La Coursier, 89, Powers, passed away on Thursday October 4, 2012 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers. She was born January 15, 1923 to the late Harry and Florence (Finnerty) Demsky in Detroit, MI. Harriet married George La Coursier in 1950.
She graduated from Dominican High Private Girls School in Gross Pointe, MI in 1941. Harriet and George resided in Sterling Heights, MI until George's retirement in 1980 and have now lived in Powers, MI since.
Harriet is survived by her husband, one daughter: Sherry (Elwood) Winn of Manitowoc, WI, two sisters: Bernice Wieciech of Bark River and Jean Le Boeuf of Powers, as well as several nieces and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law: Edward Wieciech.
Honoring the wishes of Harriet La Coursier, her family will remember her with a private ceremony at a later date . She will be buried in the Spalding Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers: her family requests donations be made to: Pinecrest Medical Care Facility: N15995 Main Street, Powers, MI 49874, in recognition of the 14 months of loving care provided to Harriet by all the Pinecrest administration and staff.
