          Jeanne M. Aerts, 88, Powers, passed away on Sunday September 4, 2016 at Dickinson County Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI. She was born on December 8, 1927 in Neenah, WI, the daughter of the late Henry and Leah (Betters) Heligensten. On August 23, 1947 she married the late Victor Aerts in Spalding, MI.
 
          Jeanne was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Spalding and the St. Anne's Society. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, reading, doing puzzles and spending time with her pet dog: Sassy.
 
          Jeanne is survived by her four children: Karen (Tom) Garz, Vicki Perry, Kim Aerts and Todd (Lisa) Aerts, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a very special cousin and friend: Dorothy Sutherland and Debbie, as well as nieces and nephews.
 
          She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of over 50 years.
 
          Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (CST) on Thursday September 8, 2016 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. (CST) on Thursday at church with Fr. Michael Vichich officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Spalding Township Cemetery. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.
