Lynette Marie LaBonte, 69, Spalding, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday July 6, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Lynette was born in Escanaba on December 18, 1955. Daughter of Joanne Marie (LaCoursiere) LaBonte and the late Napoleon LaBonte Jr. Lynette grew up in the Spalding Michigan area and graduated from North Central area schools in 1975. After graduation she moved to the Appleton area where she married and raised her five children.
 
Lynette worked for a brief period at Appleton paper while raising her family. Eventually she returned to the UP of Michigan, where she enjoyed nature and the
outdoors. She had a fondness for black bears, which was apparent in her woodworking and collectibles. In addition, she enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Lynette greatly enjoyed being with her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were all the love of her life.
 
Lynette is survived by her daughters: Melissa (Zachary) Wheeler, Trisha (Chad) Strong and Amber (Kevin) Ostorero, son: Travis (Sabrena) Hafeman, grandchildren: Tyler, Tiana, Tanner, Anastasia, Hunter, Colbie, Ava, Myla, Declan, Alexis, Gianah, Brandon, Devin, Eliza, Airyana, Natasha, Niles, Mason, Logan, nine great-grandchildren, her mother: Joanne LaBonte, sister: Renee (Duane) Faust, brother: Michael (Lennea) LaBonte sisters: Cheryl and Michelle, brothers: Patrick (Debbie), Keith, Kevin (Sheri), Dale (Mary) and many loving
nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her father: Napoleon LaBonte Jr., her son:
Chad Hafeman, niece: Shasta Pirlot and brother-in-law: Russell Pirlot.
 
          Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (CST) on Friday August 1, 2025 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. (CST) on Friday at church with Fr. Benny Mathew officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Spalding Township Cemetery. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.
 
          The Allo Coolman Funeral Home is assisting the LaBonte family.
