Marilyn Jean (Kovacs) Bartnicki, 81, Powers, passed away on Thursday December 25, 2025 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on September 14, 1944 in Trenton, MI, daughter of the late John A. and Mildred J. (Weaver) Kovacs. On August 21, 1965 she married Jerry Bartnicki at Mt. Carmel Parish Church in Wyandotte, MI.
 
Marilyn graduated from Taylor Center High School in Taylor, MI in 1962. She then worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Company as an operator and unit clerk before moving to Powers, MI.
 
She is survived by her husband, two children: Suzanne (James) Moreau of Dafter, MI and Jeffrey (Brenda) Bartnicki of Volo, IL, four grandsons: Mathew (Emily) Moreau of Pickford, MI, Nicholas (Katelyn) Moreau of Traverse City, MI, Justin Bartnicki of Volo, IL and Jarrett Bartnicki of Volo, IL, great-grandchildren: Peyton and Brendan Moreau of Pickford, MI, two brothers: George (Mary Jo) Kovacs of Livonia, MI and John (Mary) Kovacs of Traverse City, MI, as well as nieces and nephews.
 
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents.
 
In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, there will be no public services.
 
The Allo Coolman Funeral Home is assisting the Bartnicki family.
