Richard "Red" W. White, 82, Bark River, passed away on Monday September 17, 2012 at the V.A. Hospital in Iron Mountain, MI. He was born on August 21, 1930 in St. Anne, IL, the son of the late Ralph and Clara (Morrical) White. On December 17, 1955 he married the former Shirley Naese in Aroma Park, IL.
Red worked for Armstrong Cork in Kankakee, IL, and after moving to Escanaba he worked at Bosk Corp., OSF St. Francis Hospital and drove school bus for the Escanaba Public Schools. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, one son: Rodney (Susan) White, one daughter: Donna Miler, one brother: Leonard (Evelyn) White, two sisters: Doris Parks and Alice (David) Tower, two granddaughters: Shannon (Jon McNeill) White and Sarah (Mark) Ryals, three great-grandchildren: Austin, Ayden and Madison, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Red was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Wayne White.
Friends may call from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday September 20, 2012 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A funeral service will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Engelsman officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial will be established and donations may be made in his name.
