Barbara "Barb" J. (Romashko) Poupore, 78, of Spalding, Michigan passed away on Friday July 8, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center- Bay Area in Marinette, Wisconsin.
Barb was born on September 13, 1943 in Pontiac, Michigan, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Janssen) Carron.
On June 24, 1983 she married Harold Poupore in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Barb had a brilliant mind and was a proud graduate of Northern Michigan University. She received her masters degree in Social Work from Michigan State University.
Barb was a dedicated social worker who enjoyed serving others in home health care agencies, foster care and adoption. She assisted the elderly, disabled, children and families. She also worked for the Department of Health and Human Services prior to her retirement.
Barb enjoyed spending time with family, making porcelain dolls, flower gardening, and french cooking. She was an exceptional cook and had a passion for interior design. She loved raising yorkshire terriers and always had one of her dogs by her side.
Barb is survived by her husband, Harold Poupore; one son, Matt (Kristi) Romashko; five grandchildren, Samantha, Shelby, Amanda, Andrew and Sara; two great grandchildren, Alliyah and Destiny; four step children, Cindy (Ray) Myers, Renee (William) Bartel, Marcy (Donald) Robinson and Todd Poupore; six step grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, brothers and sister-in laws. She is also survived by her dear friend, Michelle Graham.
Barb is predeceased by her parents; her first husband Gerald Romashko; two sons Martin Romashko and Mark Romashko; two sisters Ruthie Dani and Bette Sutherland; and a niece Jackie Spott.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home located at West 3755 US 2, Spalding, Michigan 49886. The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Jacob Gibbs officiating. Burial will take place in the Spalding Township Cemetery immediately following the service.
