Earl R. St. John
Earl R. St. John, 79, Spalding, went home to be with the Lord on Monday September 14, 2015. He was born on June 30, 1936 in Spalding, MI, the son of the late Earl and Gladys (Richer) St. John Sr.
On May 3, 1958 he married his high school love, the former Rosemary Bellefeuil at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Spalding and together they traveled around the world and spent winters in Florida.
Earl enjoyed the time he spent serving on various boards, clubs, and organizations throughout his career in the forest industry. His passion for logging was surpassed by his love for his hunting lodge, where friends and family gathered for train rides, dinners, and stories. His time spent at the lodge with his grandchildren and great grandchildren filled his heart with pride.
He is survived by his wife, two sons: Thomas (Nikki) St. John and John (Theresa) St. John, one brother: Terry (Marilyn) St. John, three sisters: Nancy Fazer, Susan (Ben) Brierley and Marilyn (Michael) Poupore, six grandchildren: Andrea (Raymond) Mott, Jordan (Trista) St. John, Trevor St. John, Mariah (Cody Erickson) St. John, Joshua (Katie) St. John and Krystle (Joshua Cronick) St. John, eleven great-grandchildren: Carmen, Jase, Rilynn St. John, Bentley and Maverick Mott, Lilly, Maddison and Natalee Cronick, Isabella, Bohen and Benjamin St. John, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Marlene Poupore.
Friends may call from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. (CST) on Thursday September 17, 2015 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. (CST) on Thursday at the church with Fr. Michael Vichich officiating. Earl will be laid to rest following the Mass in the Spalding Township Cemetery.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in Earl St. John's name and a memorial will be established. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
