Ella "Elly" Jean Van Effen

          Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Ella “Elly” Jean Van Effen, 90, of Escanaba, was called to Heaven on Monday December 9, 2024 at Bishop Noa Home with her family by her side. She was born on October 27, 1934 in Escanaba, daughter of the late Myron and Virginia (Kincaide) DeVet. On November 6, 1954 she married the late Kenneth “Ken” Van Effen in Fayette, MI.
 
          She is survived by her, four children: Myron "Mike" (Mary) Van Effen, Tim (Cindy) Van Effen, Brennan (Teresa) Van Effen and Sheila Van Effen, grandchildren: Matt (Sarah) Van Effen, Mark Van Effen, Miranda (Randy) Derouin, Sara (Keith) Dorner, Lucas Van Effen, Amanda (Sam) Marenger, Brennan Van Effen Jr., Mitch Van Effen, Kayli (Vinnie) Studt, Danny Van Effen, Andy (Andria) Wellman, Heather (Ricky) Woodbury and Amber Wellman, many great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
 
          Elly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister: Anna Mae Cashin.
 
          A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday December 13, 2024 at St. Joseph & St. Patrick parish with Fr. Tim Ferguson officiating. Inurnment will take place in the New Garden Cemetery.
 
          In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either St. Joseph & St. Patrick Parish or St. Vincent De Paul.
         
          The Allo Coolman Funeral Home is assisting the Van Effen family.
