Frances "Fran" M. Bramer, 85, Nahma, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. She was born in Escanaba on June 23, 1932, daughter of the late Ernest and Helen (Webber) Berg. Her father died before she was born and her mother remarried her step father, James Krutina. On October 2, 1954, Fran married Roland H. Bramer.
Fran was an active member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Rapid River American Legion Auxiliary, Nahma Boat Club, and Nahma Historical Society. She enjoyed playing cards, spending time in her garden, taking trips to the casino, walking on the Nahma Beach, cheering for the Detroit Tigers, and spending time with her family.
Fran worked for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years.
Fran is survived by her daughters: Judy (Joel) Hansen, Jill (Mark) Hansen, Janet (Pete) Shafer, Joan (Jeff) Miller, and Jeanne (Paul) Kennedy, grandchildren: Stephanie (Caleb) Hayes, Janis Hansen, Karen (Brett) Baij, Matt Shafer, Andrea (Scott) Anderson, Angela (Eric) Peil, Melinda (Richard) Kennedy, and Laura (Justin) Pomeroy, great grandchildren: Levi, Alexis, Ava, Roman, Spencer, Cole, Owen, Avery, Jacie, Lila, Mason, Hailey, Shyann, and Jack, brothers: Richard , James (Marsha), and Tom (Renee) Krutina, sister in law: Ruby Peterson, special nieces: Kim, Kenlyn, Karla, and Melissa, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Roland, daughters: Jeri Jo and infant daughter Carolyn, grandson: Jeffrey Miller, and siblings: George Krutina, Carol Sturdy, and Beverly Provo.
Friends may call on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 2 to 3 p.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Nahma. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at church at 3 p.m. with Fr. Mariusz Sierhart officiating. A meal will follow in the church parish hall. Burial will be in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
