Garry William Soorus

Garry William Soorus, 74, Bark River, passed away on Wednesday June 15, 2016 at his home. He was born on September 28, 1941 in Sault St. Marie, MI, the son of the late William and Bertha (Huhtala) Soorus.

          Garry served his country in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for the State of Michigan in liquor control until his retirement.

          He is survived by two brothers: George and Gerald Soorus and one nephew: Eric (Shannon) Soorus.

          Garry was preceded in death by his parents.

          In keeping with Garry's wishes, there will be no public services. His family is planning a memorial service for a later date.

          The Allo Coolman Funeral Homes are assisting the Soorus family.
