Jacqueline M. Whitens
, 78, Hermansville, passed away on Thursday February 17, 2011 at Bishop Noa Home with her family and friends by her side. She was born on October 4, 1932 in Bark River, MI, the daughter of the late Paul and Marie (Blah) Gauthier. On October 31, 1955 she married the late James Whitens in Bark River.

She taught catechism for 10 years; volunteered with the St. Anne’s Society and with the town Centennial. Jacqueline enjoyed working as a Dietary-Aid and helping patients at Pine Crest Medical facility and took pride in creating a beautiful Christian home. She loved her family and also enjoyed singing, “Que Sera, Sera” until the last days of her life.

Jacqueline is survived by her three sons: Michael (Jeanne) Whitens, Paul Whitens and Gerald (Faye) Whitens, one brother: Maurice Gauthier, one sister: Louise LeGault, four grandchildren: Paige, Rachel, Jason and Tyler Whitens as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother: Raymond and three sisters: Jeannette LaFave, Elize Bush and Cecille Cousineau.

Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 (noon) (CST) on Saturday February 19, 2011 at St. John Neumann Church in Hermansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church with Fr. Michael Vichich officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in the Meyer Township Cemetery in the spring.
