Joan A. St. Aubin, 87, Escanaba, passed away on Saturday January 6, 2018 at Bishop Noa Home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 20, 1930 in Flat Rock, the daughter of the late James and Dorena (Gareau) Martin. On June 23, 1951 she married the late Roland St. Aubin at Sacred Heart Church in Schafer, MI.
Joan enjoyed volunteering at her church and other religious events, but she especially loved watching and helping with all children.
She is survived by four children: Susan Blahnik, Jacqueline Lundy, Mark (Tina) St. Aubin and Randy St. Aubin, four sisters: Edith (Weldon) Kiernan, B Marie Wery, Joyce Frisque and Linda Smiltneek, nine grandchildren: Bryant, Rebekah, Shannon, Nate, Kimberly, Michael, Jason, Kayla and Mikey, three great-grandchildren: Tyler, Julia and Julius, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons: Dale and Steve St. Aubin, one brother: Gary Martin and one sister: Marcella Wicklund.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday At St. Thomas the Apostle Church with Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Burial will follow Mass in Gardens of Rest Cemetery. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.

Your parents were wed the year I was born. Joan was a lovely woman and I know you will miss her. I am sorry I will not be able to be at the wake/funeral as I am working that day but I am helping with getting the food for the meal. I would have loved to be the one to read at her Funeral Mass but my husband, Craig, said he would do it. May the memories you have of your mother bring comfort to you at this sad time.
