Leona "Lee" M. Lewallen, 92, Escanaba, passed away Tuesday morning October 14, 2014 at Christian Park Village with her family by her side. She was born on January 28, 1922 in Onaway, MI, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Hodge) Lindsay.
After her husband: Forrest Lewallen passed away, she enjoyed volunteering at the Veterans Home in MO, and after moving to Escanaba, she loved working in her family's business and also going to her daughter and son-in-law's camp for weekends.
Lee is survived by two children: Sharon (Bill) Dubord and James "Jim" Kloha, seven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, fifteen great great-grandchildren, a stepson: Edwin (Carmalee) Lewallen and numerous step grand and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Forrest Lewallen.
In keeping with Leona's wishes, there will be no public services. Her family will celebrate her life at a later date.

"This lady was a legend in spirit, I am so grateful for the time I had with her I have kept every card she sent me and know she loved who I was not just tolerated me because I married her step grandson at the time, maybe she made everyone feel that way but I believe deep in my heart she was one of few very rarely sincere souls. Thank you for being my Grandma too and loving my baby "Lee" as much as I did."
