Randy Allen Piche passed away on Sunday October 3, 2021 at the age of 64 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. Born on November 15, 1956 to Walter and Stella (Laurin) Piche, Randy was a lifelong resident of Powers, MI.
Multiple surgeries and years of pain due to contracting polio as a child did not stop Randy from spending his working years in the logging industry for most of his life. He enjoyed his time in the woods, whether it was working or hunting (sometimes both at the same time), and especially spending time at camp. His camp was another source of pride; a log cabin he built with the help of his dad many years ago, reutilizing and preserving some of the wood from the original barn on the family farm.
Randy spent his entire life on the family farm and after the passing of their parents he inherited the role of family host. From the legendary Labor Day corn roast (and toss) to the traditional Christmas Eve celebrations, or even a spur of the moment gathering these celebrations were always well-attended and much appreciated by family members from near and far as Randy's hospitality was first-rate.
Whether it was spending time at camp with his brothers and nephews, or coming home to find his sisters and nieces baking Christmas cookies in his kitchen (only to find hours after they left, they had deviously rearranged his cupboards), Randy certainly enjoyed being around his family and could appreciated a well-timed practical joke.
He is survived by sisters: Donna (Dennis) Gatien and Janice Chernick, brothers: Roger (June), Richard (Mary), and Dale (Donna) Piche, as well as many nieces, nephews and numerous great friends.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by infant sister Janet, and brother-in-law Wayne Chernick.
A private funeral for his family to celebrate the life of Randy Piche will be officiated by Fr Robb Jurkovich. Burial will take place in the Nadeau Township Cemetery.
