Thomas "Tom" J. Berthiaume

          Thomas "Tom" J. Berthiaume Sr., 84 of Cornell MI, Passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023 at the Trillium House in Marquette Michigan.  He was born on July 30, 1938 in Escanaba, son of the late Louis Sr. and Barbara (Thiry) Berthiaume. Tom married the love of his life, the late Barbara Lee (Johnson) Berthiaume on June 22, 1963 in Escanaba MI. 
 
          Tom worked for Mead Paper for many years.  During his 40 plus years of employment with Mead he worked at the Boney Falls dam in Cornell. He enjoyed working at the dam where he was able to work close to home and fish while working! Tom retired from Mead Paper in 2008. 
 
          Tom loved the outdoors.  He spent all of his free time hunting close to home and out west and also loved hunting with his children over the years.  He lived on the water and was fishing from his boat, or out on the ice. His love of the outdoors was the greatest passion and legacy he could leave to others. His hunting, fishing and trapping stories will be passed on for generations.
 
          He is survived by his three children; Tom (Marci) Berthiaume, Beaver Dam WI; Jim Berthiaume, Escanaba; Christine (Jerry) Newhouse of Marquette MI;  grandchildren, Tommy III, Austin, Parker, Cameron, Corey, Katia and Andrea; 9 great-grandchildren; and Siblings, Pat Theoret, Escanaba, MI; Sr. Barbara Jean Berthiaume, Kansas; Dolly (Chuck) Cauwels, Westbend WI; and his tiny little fir companion of many years, Patches.
 
          Tom is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Lee Berthiaume,  parents and two brothers, Gerald and Louis Jr.
 
          Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Tom Berthiaume Sr. will follow visitation at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with Fr. Rick Courier officiating.
